We built this floor to handle real life — pets, kids, spills, and heavy foot traffic — while maintaining its beauty year after year.

Installation is straightforward with our UniClick locking system that snaps together without glue or nails. The attached underlayment provides sound reduction and comfort underfoot, and you can walk on your new floor immediately after installation. Stockbridge Oak works over most existing hard surfaces, making renovation projects faster and more affordable.

Construction & Waterproof Technology

NuCore Stockbridge Oak features a multi-layer construction engineered for performance. The rigid core center provides dimensional stability that resists expansion and contraction from temperature changes. Unlike traditional luxury vinyl plank products with flexible cores, our rigid design prevents telegraphing of subfloor imperfections and creates a solid feel underfoot.

The waterproof layer system extends through every component — from the wear layer down to the backing. You can install Stockbridge Oak in full bathrooms, laundry rooms, and even mudrooms without worry. Spills sit on the surface for easy cleanup, and the planks won’t swell, warp, or delaminate from moisture exposure.

Color & Design Profile

Stockbridge Oak presents a medium brown tone with warm undertones and natural color variation across planks. The visual captures mature oak character — subtle knots, mineral streaks, and grain movement that reads as authentic wood from any distance.

We use high-definition printing technology that layers multiple ink passes to create depth and dimension. Each plank varies slightly in color and pattern placement, just as real hardwood boards differ within a bundle. This variation prevents repetitive patterns and creates a more organic installed appearance.

Installation Requirements & Process

Subfloor Preparation

Stockbridge Oak installs over concrete, plywood, existing vinyl, or ceramic tile when surfaces are clean, dry, and relatively flat. Subfloors must be within 3/16″ variance over 10 feet. Remove any carpet and padding before installation, but you can float the planks directly over most hard surfaces.

The pre-attached underlayment eliminates the need for separate cushioning in most applications. On concrete subfloors, we recommend a 6-mil poly vapor barrier. The rigid core design allows installation in rooms up to 50 feet in any direction without transition moldings.

Looks like real hardwood in our kitchen
I was skeptical about vinyl planks, but NuCore Stockbridge Oak completely changed my mind. The color variation and texture make it look authentic, and we've had zero issues with water splashes near the sink. Installation took us one weekend for 400 square feet.

Survived two dogs and three kids
We installed Stockbridge Oak in our main living area three years ago. With two large dogs and three kids under 10, this floor has seen abuse. Still looks great with just basic sweeping and occasional mopping. No scratches or wear visible.

Perfect for basement moisture concerns
Our basement has humidity issues that ruled out laminate or hardwood. NuCore Stockbridge Oak went down easily over the concrete slab, and we haven't seen any moisture problems. The attached underlayment makes it comfortable to walk on.

Installation was surprisingly easy
I'm not a professional installer, but the click-lock system made this project manageable. Planks locked together smoothly, and I could pull pieces back up to fix mistakes. Finished our bedroom and hallway in about six hours total.

Warm color works with everything
The medium brown tone of Stockbridge Oak coordinates with both our light cabinets and darker furniture. It's not too yellow or gray — just a classic oak look that feels timeless. Several guests have asked if it's real wood.

Better than the hardwood it replaced
We pulled up damaged hardwood in our kitchen and replaced it with NuCore Stockbridge Oak. Honestly happier with the vinyl — no worrying about water damage, refinishing, or scratches. Feels solid underfoot, not hollow like cheap vinyl.

Stockbridge Oak Installation & Care Questions

Yes, Stockbridge Oak is compatible with radiant heating systems when surface temperature stays below 85°F. Turn off the system 48 hours before installation and bring it back up gradually after installation. The rigid core construction transfers heat efficiently without warping or damage.

Monitor surface temperature with an infrared thermometer during initial heating cycles. Most in-floor heating systems operate well below the 85°F limit during normal use.

The 20 mil wear layer resists scratches from pet claws during normal activity. Most surface marks from dogs and cats wipe away with a damp cloth since they affect only the finish rather than the wear layer itself.

For additional protection in areas where pets turn or play roughly, use area rugs or runners. The aluminum oxide particles in the wear layer provide significantly better scratch resistance than standard vinyl floors. We regularly hear from customers with multiple large dogs who report excellent long-term performance.

Rigid core vinyl like our Stockbridge Oak uses a dense composite core that won't flex or compress under weight. Standard flexible vinyl planks can show subfloor imperfections and feel less stable underfoot. The rigid construction also provides better sound dampening and allows installation over more subfloor types.

NuCore's rigid core also maintains better dimensional stability across temperature changes. You won't see the expansion gaps or buckling that sometimes occurs with flexible vinyl in rooms with temperature swings.

We recommend acclimating planks in the installation room for 48 hours at temperatures between 65-85°F. While rigid core is more stable than flexible vinyl, acclimation allows the material to reach ambient temperature for optimal installation performance.

Store unopened cartons flat during acclimation. Open packages only when ready to install. Room temperature should remain within the recommended range during and after installation.

Absolutely. The 100% waterproof construction makes Stockbridge Oak ideal for bathrooms, including around toilets, tubs, and showers. The rigid core won't swell or delaminate from moisture exposure, and the click-lock seams prevent water from reaching the subfloor.

Maintain the standard 1/4-inch expansion gap at walls and seal it with color-matched trim or silicone caulk. Use bathroom-appropriate transition moldings at doorways to adjacent rooms.

The UniClick locking system allows you to disassemble and replace individual planks. For planks near walls, remove baseboards and disassemble rows back to the damaged piece. For mid-room repairs, carefully cut out the damaged plank with a circular saw, staying within the plank boundaries, then install a replacement piece.

We recommend ordering one extra carton during initial purchase to ensure color lot matching for future repairs. Store replacement planks in a climate-controlled space for long-term availability.

Use pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaners or simply damp mop with clean water. Avoid oil-based cleaners, waxes, or polishes that leave residue on the wear layer. Vinegar solutions work for occasional deep cleaning, but dilute to no more than 1 cup per gallon of water.

Never use abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, or scouring powders. For tough spots, use a soft cloth with warm water and gentle pressure. The wear layer's scratch resistance comes from its composition, not from topical coatings that require maintenance.
