Construction & Performance Details

NuCore Bramble Oak features our proprietary rigid core technology that combines limestone composite with polymer resins for exceptional stability. This construction method prevents the warping and expansion issues common in traditional flooring materials, even in moisture-prone environments.

The 20 mil wear layer shields the bramble oak visual from scuffs, stains, and fading caused by UV exposure. We’ve tested this protective coating against commercial traffic standards to ensure it maintains its appearance through years of use. The integrated underlayment adds a cushioned feel underfoot while reducing sound transmission by up to 12 decibels compared to hard surface floors.

Installation Guidelines & Subfloor Requirements

Preparation & Layout

Bramble Oak installs over most existing hard surfaces including concrete, ceramic tile, and existing vinyl. Your subfloor must be clean, dry, and level within 3/16″ over a 10-foot span. We recommend acclimating the planks in the installation room for 48 hours before beginning.

Click-Lock Assembly

Each plank features our angle-tap locking system that creates secure seams without fasteners or glue. Stagger end joints by at least 6 inches between rows to achieve the natural randomness of real wood flooring. Leave a 1/4″ expansion gap along all walls and vertical surfaces to accommodate seasonal movement.

Styling

Maintenance & Long-Term Care

Regular sweeping or vacuuming removes abrasive dirt particles that can dull the finish over time. For deeper cleaning, we recommend using a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner diluted according to manufacturer specifications.

Avoid steam mops and excessive water when cleaning Bramble Oak. While the planks themselves are waterproof, standing water can seep into seams and potentially affect the subfloor. Wipe up spills promptly with a soft cloth.

Perfect for our kitchen remodel
I installed NuCore Bramble Oak in our kitchen after researching waterproof options for months. The color is exactly what we wanted—not too light, not too dark. Three months in and it still looks brand new despite spills and dropped pans. The click-lock system made installation straightforward even for a first-timer like me.

Holds up beautifully in high traffic
We put Bramble Oak throughout our main level including the entryway where our three kids and two dogs create constant chaos. Six months later I can't find a single scratch or dent. The attached underlayment definitely reduces noise compared to our old tile. Very happy with this choice.

Looks like real hardwood
Guests consistently ask if this is real wood flooring. The grain patterns and color variation between planks create that authentic look I was hoping for. Installation in our 1200 sq ft condo took two days with my husband. Worth every penny for the quality and appearance.

Great for basement renovation
I needed waterproof flooring for our finished basement and Bramble Oak exceeded expectations. The rigid core feels solid underfoot and the oak visual warms up what was previously a cold concrete space. No moisture issues after a year including one minor flood from our water heater.

Easy maintenance with pets
We have two large dogs and this floor cleans up so easily. Water bowls, muddy paws, the occasional accident—everything wipes right up without staining. The bramble oak color hides normal dirt better than our previous light floors did. Highly recommend for pet owners.

Professional look at DIY price
I'm a contractor and I've installed this in four client homes now. The quality rivals products costing twice as much. Bramble Oak's color works with almost any design style. Clients love the waterproof feature and the no-maintenance aspect compared to traditional hardwood.

Good to know

Common Questions About NuCore Bramble Oak

Yes, NuCore Bramble Oak is 100% waterproof and performs excellently in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other moisture-prone areas. The rigid core construction won't swell, warp, or delaminate when exposed to water. For best results, ensure seams are properly locked during installation to prevent water from reaching the subfloor.

You can install NuCore Bramble Oak directly over existing ceramic or porcelain tile as long as the surface is level, clean, and structurally sound. Fill any grout lines deeper than 1/8 inch with floor leveling compound to create a smooth installation surface. The tile must be securely bonded to the subfloor with no loose or hollow-sounding areas.

Bramble Oak delivers the authentic appearance of oak hardwood with significantly enhanced durability and moisture resistance. Unlike traditional hardwood, it requires no refinishing, won't buckle in humid conditions, and installs without professional sanding or nailing. The scratch-resistant wear layer and waterproof core make it ideal for kitchens, basements, and homes with pets or children where solid hardwood would be impractical.

Basic installation requires a tape measure, utility knife or vinyl cutter, straight edge, tapping block, and pull bar. You'll also need spacers to maintain the expansion gap along walls. For cutting around doorways and complex shapes, a jigsaw with a fine-tooth blade works well. No special flooring tools, adhesives, or nail guns are necessary thanks to the click-lock system.

Heavy furniture can create temporary surface impressions in any resilient flooring, including NuCore Bramble Oak. Prevent permanent indentations by using wide furniture coasters or felt pads that distribute weight over a larger area. The rigid core construction resists compression better than standard vinyl flooring, and most minor impressions will diminish over time when weight is removed.

Yes, Bramble Oak includes UV-resistant properties in the wear layer that protect against fading from sunlight exposure. While the floor performs well in sunny areas, we recommend using window treatments during peak sun hours to preserve the color vibrancy long-term. The rigid core construction also resists temperature fluctuations common in sunrooms and three-season rooms.

Individual damaged planks can be replaced without disturbing the surrounding floor. For planks in the middle of the room, carefully remove the affected piece by cutting along the center and prying out sections, then install a new plank using the click-lock system. We recommend purchasing an extra box during initial installation to ensure replacement planks match your original lot. Store spare planks in a climate-controlled space to maintain their condition.
