Installation Requirements & Subfloor Prep
Mountain Creek installs as a floating floor over concrete, existing vinyl, tile, and properly prepared wood subfloors. We recommend leaving a 1/4-inch expansion gap around the perimeter and using our color-matched moldings to finish transitions.
Subfloor prep is minimal compared to glue-down products. The surface must be clean, dry, and level to within 3/16 inch over a 10-foot span. Our rigid core handles minor imperfections, but grinding down high spots and filling low areas ensures the best long-term performance. You can install Mountain Creek over radiant heat systems as long as the surface temperature stays below 85°F.
